GEO T Series nominated for Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award in the category of Sound Reinforcement Loudspeaker Technology.

For the third year running, a select group of audio professionals has recognized innovations developed by NEXO R&D by nominating GEO T Series for a Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award in the category of Sound Reinforcement Loudspeaker Technology.

In 2001, the PS8 system received a nomination for this prestigious award; last year, it was the turn of the GEO S Series to be selected as one of the year’s leading developments in the SR Reinforcement category.

In 2003, the GEO T Series is among the handful of products recognized by the TEC Awards nominating committee. Introduced at ProLight+Sound 2003 in Frankfurt, Germany, the GEO T incorporates patent-pending developments that have proven themselves in the GEO S Series: the Hyperboloid Reflective Wavesource™, the Configurable Directivity Flange™ and the Directivity Phase Device™. The GEO T Series expands the output capability of GEO Technology to levels that are appropriate for the largest indoor and outdoor venues. GEO T also expands the range of NEXO’s DSP-driven Cardioid Dipole technique for the control of long acoustical waves: the S Series uses this technology in the subbass region, while the GEO T includes cardioid dipoles in both the CD18 subbass and the T4805 full range vertical tangent array module.

In the first few months since its launch, GEO T has quickly swung into action on prestigious live events around the world. High-profile bands like Oasis and Metallica have used the system in Europe, British PA rental company SSE Hire is taking GEO T to almost every major festival in the UK this summer including Glastonbury, and leading sound companies from Sweden to South Africa are adding GEO T to their inventories.

The TEC Awards was established by Mix magazine in 1985 to honor outstanding achievement in the professional recording and sound production industry. The nominations are made by a panel of approximately 200 audio professionals. Qualified Mix subscribers will make the final determination via ballots in the August 2003 issue, and the winners will be announced at a ceremony Saturday, 11 October on the second night of the Fall AES convention.
