Group Technologies is thrilled to announce it has just been appointed official Australian distributor for FiberPlex’s LightViper brand of Fiber Optics for the Pro-Audio industry. The LightViper range includes Optical Snake Products, Breakout Cables, Fiber Cable and a range of Accessories to complement the line up. Moreover, Mic/Line Level Analog or AES3 Digital Audio can be transmitted via the Fibre system, and customers have the choice of different Fibre connectors making LightViper one of the most versatile and cost-effective systems available.  The LightViper product is very affordable, with complete systems starting at $12,000 (AUD).

Control signals can be passed from front of house via the built-in RS-422 support using the optional DGL-422 adapter, or the optional MD-3 which provides an RS422, RS232 and MIDI control interface. In addition, the optional 10/100 Ethernet module can be used for applications where Ethernet control is needed.

There are many benefits to using fiber optic cable instead of copper cable. Some of the most important advantages concern fiber‘s inherently superior dielectric properties. Since optical fiber has no metallic components, it is unsurpassed for providing complete electrical isolation as well as noise immunity.
