GT Grab DiGiCo at PLASA 2004
Gee, PLASA was big this year - bigger
than we could have imagined here at Filter. For those not in the know, PLASA is held over four days in (Earls Court) London
each September and is recognised by the industry, as being the world’s most established, professional technology trade
event for the entertainment and installation industries. It’s the premier international platform for the launch and
demonstration of lighting, audio, AV, stage engineering and special effects. No other event comes close to matching it for
new product launches, inspiring ideas and a chance to meet up with the industry’s leading experts.
Although some of the photos of the GT bunch might give the illusion that it’s all about drinking lots of beer, it
is really the place where Group Technologies goes to find the best pro-audio products to bring to Australia. This September
was no exception!
GT managed to sign up the Australian distribution account for the world-renowned DiGiCo Digital Consoles. If you take a
look around the GT web site, you will find a bunch of stuff specifically about DiGiCo’s
great product range, including the incredible D5-Live, and its new younger sibling, the D1-Live, a cost-effective version
of the D5 Digital Mixing Consoles. They are world-class, and quite frankly the best. DiGiCo means a great deal to GT, as
it rounds out an already impressive line-up of high-end products under their distribution, including Nexo, Camco, RCF, and
Optocore. We here at Filter have taken to calling them the Big Five.
One of the Big Five – RCF – also put in a good showing at this year’s PLASA, launching the new ART installation
series (amongst other items), produced in both active and passive versions, which follow in the tradition of RCF speakers
in breaking new ground in audio excellence.
GT has had a long association with RCF, managing to distribute their range in Australia to great success. They are excited to have RCF
back in the fold – and a part of the Big Five – and are equally excited about the new ART Series. They promise to deliver some
excellent new products, and GT promise to bring them to you. Check out the RCF ART Series by clicking
