A new phase for Phase 1 Audio

Next year Phase 1 Audio will be having its tenth birthday but the celebration started late this year with the purchase of a Nexo/Camco combination that will guarantee at least another ten birthdays to come.

Phase 1 Audio owner, Jon Caisley has a lot more than ten years experience in audio which explains the wide variety of audio customers he is called upon to provide audio, lighting and staging for. Concerts, festivals, corporate events, bands and technical management, you have to be able to do everything when you operate in a market such as Perth.

But it’s not all fashion shows and quiet bands, Jon supplies production on a regular basis to high SPL bands like Wolfmother, Thirsty Merc, Cat Empire and Alex Lloyd. For this kind of customer diversity you need a wide range of audio tools - or is that an audio tool that will do a wide range of jobs?

Well with this kind of thinking Jon recently purchased a large quantity of Nexo PS15 and Nexo LS 1200 sub-bass, multi-purpose boxes all powered by an impressive assortment of Camco Vortex series amplifiers.

When questioned why Nexo? Jon’s reply was, “The PS15 is the ultimate multi-purpose box. One day it’s a foldback wedge, the next it’s grouped in an FOH array, yet stills retains the flexibility to still be a great stand-alone box. The asymmetric wave-guide gives the box real throw while still being capable of delivering a broad dispersion to the front row. It’s just a matter of rotating the flares”.

Jon has also discovered the amount of cross-hire demand for the PS15 among the other western Australian production companies. “It seems to be on just about every touring rider these days” added Jon.

As much as Jon loved the sound of the PS15s, he appreciates that an equipment purchase is a capital equipment investment, so he was more than happy to have a system that his customers want to use and also be a personal preference of his own. With this new production capability, Phase 1 Audio is rapidly moving to phase two.
