German Trade Shows, Italian Speakers and Australia 's Oldest Theatre…
The tech-talk in this month’s Filter starts in Germany, at Messa, the world’s biggest music trade show and ends in a bar (of course) with a little plastic box. We’ve also got history; Australia’s oldest theatre might be old on the outside, but inside it got the newest technology. We have full details of the Nexo install in to Hobart’s Theatre Royal.
Speaking of history and little boxes, small or plastic boxes feature heavily in this issue right up until you get to this month’s instalment of “The Birth of the Array”, when the boxes get noticeably bigger. No stone has been left unturned to make “Birth” a relatively unbiased look at the history of the big gig. The going gets heavy with lots of tech terms, rock history, (better left in the past) and plenty of sweeping generalisations, set to fog any serious audio boffin’s bi-focals. But then that’s why we have a feedback line. Please feel free to debunk any information contained within “Birth”; we will endeavour to publish any comments.
We hope you enjoy this issue of Filter and look forward to getting Filter 6 to your inbox soon!
