Sommer Patch and Microphone Cables
Scuba 14 highflex

Through thick and thin...the new SCUBA will go right along with you. It is very thin, saves space, is flexible, excellently suited for connectors with a small diameter, for example LEMO patchboards, mini-jacks, cinch, etc. and rack cabling.
Their diameter and wire construction has been configured according to common broadcasting norms and dense copper braiding with 90 % shielding protects the cable from interference.
For the sake of clarity we offer the SCUBA in five different jacket colors.
THE ADVANTAGES:
- Very thin, high tensile strength and flexibility
- Available in five different colors
- Good shielding due to dense copper braided shielding
- Very reasonable price
THE APPLICATION:
- Patch cabling (LEMO), gooseneck microphones
- Home recording
- Rack and console cabling
The Goblin

Not less, but thinner... and because it is available in four colors, it is easy to identify. Otherwise the technical and electrical construction is similar to THE SOURCE.
Due to the small diameter it fits almost all current TT-phone and B-gauge plug connectors and can also be used for a Y-adapter cable. Based on the carefully constructed shielding the cable also has the additional positive benefit of enormous treadability and tensile strength. The light grey version is suitable for inconspicuous installation in churches.
THE ADVANTAGES:
- Ideal for patch cables due to the small outer diameter of 0.181 inch
- Very good tensile strength due to the double shielding construction and the special PVC-jacket
- Linear sound transmission due to the special conductor pair construction and the copper stranding
- Available in four colors
- 100 % Shielded due to the use of metalic fleece and additional copper spiral shielding
THE APPLICATION:
- Professional studio patch connection
- High quality mini-microphone cable
- Demanding phone and RCA-connections
- MIDI-cable for long distances
- Inside wiring for racks and connection of audio components and effect units
Peacock MKII

Two friends we must be... and into two plugs we must fit. Or into three - or even four. You can do a lot with this cable. But most importantly it is a stereo cable for microphones and for the construction of cinch and Y-patch cables.
Each of these cables is protected individually to 95 % with dense spiral shielding and can be separated at any time. The individual cable fits all jack, XLR, and cinch plugs.
For round cables see the MISTRAL on page 28 and QUANTUM on page 27.
THE ADVANTAGES:
- Highly flexible due to the use of a soft PVC-jacket resistant to the cold
- Multiple application because individual cables can be separated
THE APPLICATION:
- Wiring of stereo microphones
- Construction of insert cables
Cicada SO-D14

This tiny twist... with its .102 inch diameter fits in wherever there is little room. We originally developed the CICADA SO-D14 as a high quality cable for the inside wiring of racks and audio equipment, but being tested extensively by various manufacturers of microphones they very quickly relised the excellent technical and electrical values of the cable. In the meantime the CICADA can be found on many clip and ear microphones, head sets, and speaker units.
Especially appreciated is the extreme flexibility, the dense spiral shielding, and the pre-twisted and tin-plated drain wire on the CICADA SO-D14, which gives the cable additional protection against bending and tearing.
If you are a manufacturer of high quality audio components, then wire your units with this cable! The low noise and the shielding will amaze you!
Now available with a PUR-jacket (resistant to notching and cold temperatures!
THE ADVANTAGES:
- Highly flexible due to the fine copper strand construction
- Easy to work with due to the additional filler strand (0.22 mm2)
- Outstanding shielding due to dense spiral shielding, 95 % optically opaque
- Longetivity and resistant to notching due to the tough PUR-jacket
THE APPLICATION:
- Inside wiring of mixing boards, racks, and other audio components
- Flexible cable for clip microphones, ear phones, speaker units, etc.
- Construction of adapter cables
