Who would have thought... that the colorful fibre-optic bundles from the seventies would someday also be able to transmit digital audio signals? Contrary to the common cheap fibres, those with approx. .4 dB/m already reaching a critical range starting at 19 ft, the OCTOPUS is a high quality cable with a damping value of less than .16 dB per meter, thus offering safe transmission properties even for longer lengths.
With a bending radius of only .669 inch the OCTOPUS can be installed even in small spaces. The optimum wavelength is 660 nm.

Octopus - G (PE)

WARP 1,... or better said, you will be able to reach the simple speed of light with our OCTOPUS-G LWL cable. With this cable you can transmit your audio-digital signals across distances of up to 2200 yards (at 100 mbit/s). The fibres have a core diameter of either 9/125 µm or 50/125 µm and are housed in a robust PE- (installation) or PUR-jacket (mobile) with die-electric protection (rodent protection). The OCTOPUS-G in PE is ideal for outdoor and ground installation, the PUR-version is windable, flame-retardant in compliance with IEC332-1, and suitable for mobile applications.
We also deliver the OCTOPUS-G premade with STII-, SC-, or LC-connectors - for detailed information, see section "Premade Cables". Here you can find premade LWL-patch cables. Splice boxes are available in Section "Equipment + Accessories"
