Midfield monitors
There are three different S4A models: S4A, S4VA and S4CA. While these are very closely related to each other in sound and technical performance, they are different in size and dispersion characteristic. The three-way S4VA MK 2 features a 12” woofer, a 5” HexaCone® Midrange and the A.R.T tweeter. The large size of the bass driver combined with 500W of sheer amplifier power dedicated this driver alone enable this monitor to deliver low bass information loud and clear.
Adam Midfield Monitor: S3A Description
The S3 is the choice for demanding recording engineers who need to monitor deep bass in mid sized control rooms. One woofer acts as a full-range driver with the second woofer joi-ning it only below 150Hz. This unusual ap-proach effectively doubles the area and power of the woofer when it needs to respond to deeper frequencies, resulting in an excep-tionally tight and punchy low end without com-promising midrange performance. The active version has three 150 W amplifiers that deliver outstanding dynamic performance. It can be used either horizontally or vertically, so that very flexible positioning within the studio is possible. No compromise 5.1 set up can be built with the Sub1 Subwoofer.

Adam Midfield Monitor: S4A Description
The models S4 are the first to incorporate the A.R.T. Midrange unit. The capability of a loudspeaker to simultaneously create spatial information and good positioning has been the subject of much discussion. Perhaps it is this constant phase behaviour of the A.R.T. transducers that cannot be found in voice coil based systems that can accounts for ADAM monitors great ability in this area. The S4 is more than adequate for use in even bigger control rooms with great sound. The S4 is especially suited for broadcast monitoring.

Adam Midfield Monitor: S4CA Description
The S4CA is a Column version of the S4A monitor. It contains the same drivers and amplifiers; the Column-like bass unit is topped by an acoustically isolated midrange-tweeter unit that swims on damping foam to avoid resonances and colorations in the midrange. For some locations it may be the only solution, furthermore the overall quality of reproduction is improved by: - the lack of early reflections from the non-existing front baffle.
